In this in-person session, Jane Harris will introduce us to the topic of addiction through the lens of pornography addiction. This will be an educational event with the opportunity for a Q&A at the end.
This event will also form the platform for a later online webinar for those who want to have more information around how to practically work with those who have addiction and those that need to recover from addiction.
Meet Jane
Over the past 20 years Jane has been working as a qualified psychotherapist, registered counsellor, and as a clinical and pastoral supervisor. She works in most fields of mental health, with a focus on addiction, trauma, grief and loss and the impact on family relationships. Currently, she does counselling, psychological profiling and debriefing for mission agencies and Bible Colleges, supervises clinicians and pastors, and runs her own private practice for general counselling. Her husband shares the same concerns for mission and is qualified in the same areas. At the moment they are enjoying the blessing of living on a 5-acre block!
Jane’s Qualifications
Diploma in Counselling, and a Bachelor of Ministries (Missions in Practice) from Laidlaw College where she later lectured. Jane then completed her Masters in Health Science through AUT, (thesis topic – the impact of compulsive pornography use by heterosexual males and attachment theory).
